University Square, Liverpool
The refurbishment of the open space at the junction of Mount Pleasant and Brownlow Hill completed in the Autumn of 2009. The improvements were part of a programme aiming to improve the public areas of Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter, as part of the larger Big Dig regeneration scheme that has been going on throughout Liverpool since the turn of the millennium.
They include the repaving of the footpaths in the area in high quality Magma and Kobra granites, and the addition of new planting, modern street furniture and lighting. New traffic signals and a new pedestrian crossing has also been implemented.
