An exciting new Stone Federation event on the use of stone in landscaping aimed at landscape architects, contractors, local authorities and landscape designers took place on 26 March 2019 at The Garden Museum in London.

The event provided those that attended with a comprehensive resource of best practice, selection and sourcing guidance that aimed to position the attendees in making the best use of the potential that natural stone offers – all in a non-bias and uncommercial forum.

The seminars covered a range of topics with plenty of opportunities to ask project specific questions including a Q&A with Hardscape’s very own Group Technical Manager, Asil Besim:

  • Landscape Project Profiles – Showcasing Success (Gordon Hines, Marshalls)
  • Natural Stone – A Landscape’s Ideal Material (Giles Heap, CED)
  • The Process of Production and Quarrying (Michael Gorman, Johnsons Wellfield and Sean Wooten, Welsh Slate)
  • Q&A Session (Asil Besim, Hardscape – David Burton, SteinTec – Michael Heap, CED)

The Stone Federation, Hardscape and other companies who supported the event are passionate about promoting the use of natural stone for landscape projects of all sizes, and as part of this, work alongside landscape specifiers to connect those that attended with the best materials and companies in the marketplace.

It was a great event, well attended and one that the Stone Federation and Landscape Insight hope to repeat again at some point!
