Landscape Institute NPPF Event, Oxford – beyond landscaping

22nd February 2019

Hardscape was proud sponsors of the Landscape Institute CPD event held on 21st February 2019 at Jurys Inn, Oxford, to discuss changes to the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and how they affect professional practice.

Hardscape were on hand to offer practical advice for specifications that required hard landscaping materials and also supported the Livestream to a further 250+ delegates who were unable to physically attend on the day.

With expert speakers and leaders from The Planning Advisory Service, South Downs National Park, The National Trust, Natural England, North Northamptonshire Planning Unit, Landmark Chambers and Private Practice the event explored many themes such as:

  • Plan-making and decision-taking
  • Urban design
  • Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) and Section 106
  • Sustainable development
  • Planning in designated landscapes
  • Quality place-making
  • Net gain
  • Ethical planning
  • Green and blue infrastructure
  • The future of landscape-led planning

With over 16 expert sessions the day brought an in depth view of the revised NPPF and what this means to Landscape Practitioners.

Also it was a great networking opportunity for individuals to share their experiences and build on knowledge and understanding of these important government’s planning policies for England and how these are expected to be applied and implemented.
