On Thursday 15th August 2019 landscape architects and urban designers joined in the fun with members of the Landscape Institute North West for a scavenger hunt #LI90 Event: ‘A Window in Time’ – A summer’s evening, that included an engaging team game inspired by Manchester’s landscape architecture, history and future, followed by a delicious BBQ, drinks, and socialising with other professionals.

The evening began at 6pm in Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester by the Queen Victoria statue, where everyone met their team members for the event.

Everyone then headed off on a mystery walking tour of Manchester, with clues along the way which were linked to the history and development of the city, using a special gaming app designed by Place Jam exclusively for the event.

Ending up at Dukes 92 in Castlefield, teams then completed a model-making small design exercise linked to the future 90 years, thinking about people, place and play.

This was followed by a scrumptious BBQ and complimentary drinks and a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable August evening in a sunny Manchester!

Team 1929 were worthy winners with a Roman-influenced playspace for Castlefield’s Urban Heritage Park.
