The 7th Annual CIHT Awards ceremony took place on 14th June at Gibson Hall, Bishopsgate London. The Awards are a celebration of the highways and transportation industry; it is an opportunity to reward the remarkable achievements of those working in the sector and to promote this professionalism and best practice to a wider industry audience.

The Institution wphpBmcbfs6995as honoured that they could be joined by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal as principal guest for the evening.

Attendees were also entertained by an inspirational after-dinner speech from Lord Digby Jones KT.

 

The CIHT Mouchel Streets Award went to the Borough of Pendle (Engineering & Special Projects) for Nelson High Street. Hardscape started working with Pendle Borough Council on this project in early 2008 with the aim to completely regenerate Nelson town centre over 2 phases of work. An eliptical basalt amphitheatre where the Shuttle was positioned, was designed by Pendle Borough Council then drawn and manufactured by Hardscape. Further to the amphitheatre there was 4000m2 of Yorkstone paving and granite kerbs/setts used. The phase was finally completed in August 2011. www.ciht.org.uk/awards2012
