From a construction background, Asil joined Hardscape in March 2007 and is responsible for all technical matters relating to product sales and support to the national sales team including British and European Standards resource and information and specific product-related test data.

Laying

As part of our continued commitment to provide quality impartial advice on the selection of paving materials, Hardscape can now offer sound advice on any laying, sealing or sub-base issues. Any advice given is a suggested understanding of the relevant standard/data and not a recommendation. Hardscape will not be held liable for any failure using our suggestion/interpretation and recommend that a suitably qualified engineer is used to validate the advice.

Product Test Data

When choosing a stone for a project, Hardscape can offer guidance to the architect, engineer or developer to select which acceptance criteria is appropriate for particular types of stone. Once a stone has been selected on aesthetic appearance it is important to determine whether it exhibits the necessary physical properties and durability characteristics to achieve in-service design life performance through a project specific designed test programme.

Hardscape have tested many of its available products via UKAS accredited laboratories and can offer specific and relevant summary data sheet on characteristics such as water absorption, abrasion resistance, flexural strength, frost resistance, slip resistance and petrographic examination.

Prima Porphyry CE Marking

Hardscape now have CE markings on their European imported Prima Porphyry. The European Commission describes CE Marking as a "Passport to Europe" which allows manufacturers to freely circulate their products within the European market.

CE Marking is now mandatory for a wide range of products sold within the European Union. The letters CE are an abbreviation of the French term "Conformité Européen", they indicate that the manufacturer is compliant with all applicable EEC legal requirements of the EU "New Approach Directives".
