scheme info:
North Norfolk District Council commissioned Mott MacDonald to design the promenade landscape scheme of Cromer Pier to complement and enhance the Victorian and Edwardian heritage of the sea side town. The focal point of the design includes an innovative landscape and lighting scheme for the pier overlaid new steps and ramps leading onto the pier with a series of radial lines pointing towards information on some of the most famous RNLI rescues inlaid in brass into the directional lines. The lines radiate out from a central compass feature which is a direct representation of the compass found in the Lifeboat H F Bailey in the town’s RNLI Museum.
