The award winning Gold Route is a series of linked public spaces from Sheffield railway station to the centre of the city. The landscape architects at Sheffield City Council were responsible for the development of the concept and masterplan, and led the detailed design of the Peace Gardens, Barkers Pool and Howard Street, which make up the route. The city centre is now booming and the reputation of Sheffield as a forward-looking European city with a strong belief in contemporary design and craftsmanship has been enhanced.
