For those of you who missed it, here is a round up of the Landscape Institute’s Summer Social North West event, held on Tuesday 17th July, at Dukes 92 in Manchester.

Landscape designers take a local tour!

During the evening, the guests were invited on two guided tours of local schemes, looking at the landscaping details that went into the design and the execution of the projects, followed by a delicious BBQ, drinks. It was a great opportunity to socialise with peers, guests and sponsors – one of which was yours truly – Hardscape!

The evening kicked off at 5:45pm and guests could choose from:

Tour 1

First Street (HOME) Manchester led by Rob Moore from Planit-IE.

Tour 2

Manchester Science Park – ‘The Bright Building’ Manchester – led by Jenny Ferguson from BDP.

At each of the tour sites Hardscape arranged a photo competition, whereby guests could take photos of the projects and submit them later to be judged by Hardscape’s professional photographer, Alistair Taylor.

There was a bottle of champagne and framed photograph prize up for grabs for each site, and the lucky winners were:

First Street, Manchester – Laura Schofield from TEP Environment Partnership, Warrington

Manchester Science Park – Jonathan Stephen from Capita Real Estate and Infrastructure, Birmingham.

Overall runner up was Cindy Zheng from BDP, Manchester for her photo at Manchester Science Park.
