Save the date: Landscape Institute Awards 201824th October 2018
We are more excited than ever this year to be the Headline Sponsor of such a prestigious event in the Landscape calendar!
This year’s Landscape Institute (LI) Awards will be held at The Brewery in London on Thursday 22nd November – providing the perfect opportunity for everyone in the landscape sector to come together and celebrate some of the best work of the year.
Hardscape has been supporting the LI Awards for over 12 years and as Headline Sponsors for this year’s event, we can’t wait to see the shortlist – due to be announced this week!
The awards shine a spotlight on the exceptional work of a diverse group of landscape professionals including landscape architects, designers, managers, planners and researchers. Every year, the LI applauds those working on the most innovative projects, in recognition of outstanding work, which has shaped, restored and protected the natural and built environment.
This year, two new Award categories have been created: The Dame Sylvia Crowe Award for Outstanding International Contribution to People, Place and Nature (the first LI Award to be open to individuals and organisations globally) and the Planting Design, Horticulture and Strategic Ecology Award – showcasing established planting schemes and horticulturally focused projects, which contribute to the art and science of landscape architecture.
The awards ceremony will be compered by BBC London radio contributor, Ebs Akintade and includes an exciting guest speaker – New York Times best-selling author and journalist Florence Williams.
As a Fellow at the Center for Humans and Nature and a visiting scholar at George Washington University, Florence’s research investigates the science at the confluence of environment, mood, health, and creativity and delves into the powers of the natural world to improve health, promote reflection and innovation. In her most recent book, The Nature Fix: Why Nature Makes Us Happier, Healthier, and More Creative Florence investigates nature’s restorative benefits and sets out to uncover the science behind nature’s positive effects on the brain. We’re looking forward to hearing some of her inspiring insights at the awards!
The Landscape Institute is pleased to announce the shortlist of finalists for the annual Landscape Institute Awards 2018. The projects showcase the breadth of exceptional work of the many different types of landscape professionals, including landscape designers, managers, planners and researchers and in particular the power landscape has to impact on people’s lives.
