Goose Green Summer Festival took place at the end of last month to celebrate the area’s recent transformation following comprehensive improvement works. Altrincham Forward teamed up with businesses in the newly developed Altrincham quarter to organise the event on August 29th.

A full programme of live music and entertainment, with acts including award-winning choir the Cheshire Chord Company, Green Room favourites The Henry Revue and The Jailbirds. Mark Rubin, Goose Green property owner, said: “I and a number of business owners in Goose Green were keen to mark the fantastic redevelopment with a celebratory event and we hope this can be the start of an annual Summer Festival in Goose Green.”

Trafford’s Mayor and Mayoress also attended to formally reopen the new-look square. Councillor Michael Young, Altrincham Forward board member, added: “Goose Green is the first completed area of Phase 1 of the public realm work in Altrincham, and we have been delighted with the positive response to the improvements from both businesses and the public. “The new pedestrian-friendly layout was designed with the aim of accommodating more community events within the square, and it is great to see Altrincham Forward and Goose Green businesses working together on this summer celebration.

Hardscape worked with Planit-IE Landscape Architects, based in Altrincham and supplied Magma granite paving and setts, Yellow Rock, Barleycorn granite setts, Kobra Artscape Geese sculpture benches and Heron Grey kerbs and tactiles. Cooney Civil Engineering were the contractor.
