HPL part sponsor next phase of BRE’s Innovation Park designed by PRP Landscape
The landscape design division of architects PRP has won a competition to design the external part of the next phase of the BRE’s Innovation Park. The park showcases environmentally friendly prototype homes and community buildings. The winning scheme is an extension of the existing landscaping of the first eight buildings on the park. The winning sustainable landscape scheme introduces a street into the park which links the new and existing building at the innovation park and includes trees, green walls and a pedestrian friendly ‘homezone’. There is also a central plaza, a community garden and play areas for children. The scheme also includes environmentally friendly elements such as porous paving. The next phase of the innovation park was unveiled at the Insite09 exhibition in June 2009 and included two more homes, an apartment block, a retail outlet and two healthcare projects. HRH Prince Charles also paid a visit to the BRE Innovation Park in June 2009 to check the progress of the 'Natural House'. Hardscape supplied Kellen Grigio paving materials to the front and rear of some of the phase 2 buildings and fully support this project which solidifies their approach on quality carbon emmision conscious construction. Hardscape, on the back of their sustainability award for Ashford, go from strength to strength with their drive and commitment to the environment endorsed with a 'royal seal of approval'.
