Hardscape started working with Pendle Borough Council on this project in early 2008 with the aim to completely regenerate Nelson town centre over 2 phases of work. Phase 1 focused on the Market Square. Naylor Hill Yorkstone Paving along with Woodkirk Yorkstone Setts where used with granite edgings and kerbs to create a linear open space for pedestrians and the open Market. A modern day war memorial was also designed and built within this phase. Phase 1 consisted of 3000m2 of paving and completed in 2009. Further to the success of Phase 1, design work for the second phase took serious consideration to the central area of the town. An eliptical basalt amphitheatre was designed by Pendle Borough Council then drawn and manufactured by Hardscape. Further to the amphitheatre there was 4000m2 of Yorkstone paving and granite kerbs/setts used. This phase was completed in August 2011.
